Free Artist Web Hosting Package Terms & Conditions:

The Free Web Hosting offer is discretionary and subject to acceptance by the administrators of Showcomplex. The Free Web Hosting package is open for submission by contemporary artists only. This includes painters, sculptors, print-makers, mixed media artists and illustrators. The Free Web Hosting service can be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. Artists accepted onto the Free Web Hosting package can be removed from Showcomplex without prior warning. The maximum duration of the Free Web Hosting package for accepted artists is one year from their date of acceptance. After the period of one year expires artists need to re-apply to have their work kept on Showcomplex (these conditions apply). Artists have full and sole responsibility for the images/information they display on Showcomplex. Any issues arising from the legality, origin or copyright of images and/or information displayed on Showcomplex are the sole responsibility of the artist concerned. This includes the accuracy of written as well visual information and includes any prices that the artist advertises. The Showcomplex administrators are not financially or otherwise liable for any legal action that the artist may wish to take against any third party that use the Artists images without the artists consent. Accepted artists are limited to one Free Web Hosting package per person. Applicants can submit images to the Showcomplex administrators either by post (see address below) or over the Internet (see link below). Artists that apply by post must include a self addressed stamped envelope to have their application images and information returned. The Showcomplex administrators take no responsibility for items and/or information damaged or lost in transit. Applicants will be informed of their submission's success or failure by email if they applied over the Internet (and submitted a valid email address) or by post if they included a stamped self-addressed envelope with their postal application (and submitted a valid postal address). An applicant's date of acceptance shall be when their email or letter of acceptance was sent. An applicant that has a successful application should check all information (text and images) that have been placed into their pages by the Showcomplex Administrators (this is to check for any errors and the general integrity of data). Artists can request their work be taken down from Showcomplex at any time. Artists will need to re-apply if at a later date they change their minds. The Showcomplex Administrators will attempt to take down the artists images as soon as possible after the request. Once accepted, artists are given a username and password which allows them to update their web site online. The Free Web Hosting facilities available to accepted artists are a limited version of the Basic Package available at Showcomplex. It is the artists responsibility to keep their password private and not to disclose it to anyone. If any damage is caused to Showcomplex by someone logging in with someone else username and password the artist whose username and password it is will be held responsible. A free image change constitutes rotating one image that is already on Showcomplex with a new one uploaded from a pc/macintosh connected to the Internet. A full explanation and instructions on how to complete this process are available to accepted artists. The Free Web Hosting package offers 4 of these changes. Additional changes can be purchased by contacting the Showcomplex administrators. Images changed using the Internet 'Upload' facility are required to conform to certain width, height and disk size restrictions. Full details are available form the 'Upload' instructions. Images can be changed by the Showcomplex administrators if an artist requires an image rotation but does not have the facilities to change an image themselves (i.e. doesn't have a pc/macintosh that can connect to the Internet), but the artist concerned is liable to pay an administration fee. Any charges due to Showcomplex shall be paid in a legitimate (UK) sterling form. All artists web pages on Showcomplex are indexed by search engines, including Google, MSN, Yahoo etc... If an artist does not want their name and or images indexed in search engines it is advisable to NOT put their information onto Showcomplex. Once an artist pages are indexed in search engines, their pages can remain there for an unknown amount of time (years!). The information in these search engines is completely out if the Showcomplex administrators jurisdiction. Refer to the previous point if unsure whether to have information on the Internet. If an artist is accepted onto Showcomplex it can take many months for their information to show up on search engines. Typically, the time required to show up in Google is usually no longer than 3 months. However the precise time taken is out of the Showcomplex administrators hands. The Showcomplex administrators do not guarantee inclusion or placement in any search engine/directory. The web page design of the free artists package is generic in nature and not negotiable to redesign. The Showcomplex administrators reserve the right to amend the design of the web pages at any time without prior notice. The Showcomplex Administrators reserve the right to not include an artist in the a-z files. If an artist is included in the a-z files they are assigned an art category (painting, sculpture etc..). This is decided by the Showcomplex Administrators. If an artist prefers to be in another category then they can make a request to be moved. However, the Showcomplex Administrators have the final say in the placement of an artist in the categories. Some cropping of images may occur before being placed online. This is always kept to a minimum and is predominantly used to tidy image edges. There is no promise of service (guaranteed uptime) for the availability of an artist's images on the Internet from Showcomplex. Any email sent through Showcomplex is not viewed by the Showcomplex administrators. Due to the nature of the Internet the Showcomplex administrators cannot take responsibility for emails that do not arrive at an artist's email server.
